ABOUT JULIANNE KAPHAR
MS, CNS, LDN, CDN
Like many of my clients, I started my journey in nutrition after I had a life-altering health crisis. In my drive to heal, I initially dove into nutrition through a disordered lens. My orthorexic and restrictive tendencies clouded my relationship with true nutritional support for the first several years of attempting to heal.
I am happy to say that I found a way out of the madness. Now, I am a nutritionist who helps people avoid the same chaos I experienced!
While many health and healing focused businesses love to promise miracle cures and permanent quick fixes, I think it’s important to be honest about how healing can often be a lifelong process.
I have grown a lot, and I am still in this process of freeing myself from fears of food. I eat everything now and do not restrict myself. I use nutrition to manage my own specific health conditions most of the time, but not all of the time, (because I’m a human being and there’s no such thing as “perfect”). And I now deeply enjoy food and love to eat. I am proud to say I love food.
I’ve also found the delightful liberation that comes from how much time, energy, and creativity can be freed up when one doesn’t have to obsess over food all the time! Not to mention the joy of going out to restaurants and to social events without fearing what to eat.
I’m still in this journey, and I think that’s what makes me a good support person for other people as they heal their relationship with their bodies and with food.
I believe in using nutrition not as punitive programming, but rather as an opportunity to feel vital and to enjoy life (and food!) more, not less.
I have my MS in human nutrition from University of Bridgeport, and I am a Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS), a Certified Dietitian-Nutritionist, and a Licensed Dietician-Nutritionist (LDN).
I am trained in functional and integrative nutrition, and I am in the process of becoming a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor. I also have received specialized training in Binge Eating Disorder.
